1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?
I’m originally from New York, but relocated to rural Virginia after the birth of my oldest child. It was quite a transition! I found an outlet in cooking, so I started documenting my journey on Instagram. I was surprised and excited to learn about the supportive and welcoming community there, and have had a blast as I share and ‘meet’ so many wonderful friends.
2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?
Typically I post food photos with a focus on clean and healthy eating. But I really, seriously love pizza, so you’ll find some of that on my page too!
3) How did your Instagram name come about?
When I stopped working full time to care for my son, people would ask me how I spent my time. They’d say, “oh, you’re a stay at home mom. Must be nice!” And I always thought that I do way more than just stay home – so much of my time was spent planning and cooking our family meals. It became a priority in a totally new way, so I began joking that I was a cook at home mom! It sort of stuck with me since then.
4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!
I use Vsco or acolorstory
5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?
Yes! @thedaleyplate @lisa_vipond @goeatyourbeets @bazaarlazarr
6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?
A color story! It’s so fun and bright!
7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?
Getting to share some of my favorite fun things!
8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?
Allow influencers as much freedom to be creative and put their own spin on things as possible. We know how to represent our personal styles and also what appeals to our audience.
9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?
Always be true to yourself. People can see through the fake stuff, even on Instagram. And take chances! It’s the only way to grow.
10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?
Getting to try new things and learning about brands from a marketing perspective.
