Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: lara gerlach @lara.nge

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

My name is Lara and im 17 years old. I am german but I’ve been living in France for the past 5 years. From a early age on I’ve been very interested in fashion and designe and believe that it is one of the most powerful ways of self expression. I’m currently doing the international baccalaureate and want to go study in central saint martins in London next year. Photography, design and fashion all belong to my biggest passions.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

My main topic of interest is fashion. On my instargam I post a variety of things including fashion photos of course, architzcture, interior design, food pictures and lifestyle photos.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

My instagram name just came to my head naturally. I wanted a username that included my real name so I decided to take my first name “lara” and add the initials of my second name “noelle” and “gerlach” so thats how i came up with “lara.nge”

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

Usually what I do is take my photos in bright day light so they don’t need a lot of editing. At the beginning I used the iphone filter ‘fade’ and then i used “afterlight” for a while to add some vintage effects and now I use the applictaion “air brush” to add a filter to my photos.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

Some instagrammes I really like include “carlycristman”, “vanellimelli” and “nanda_schwarz”. Besides that I also really like “upcloseandstylish” and “thebirkinboy”.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

I think it is always important to try new things. I would recommend everyone to go out and get out of their comfort zone in order to grow as a person.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

One of the favourtie parts is the collaboration with other people. I love working together with others to achieve something great and this is a really big part of being an influencer I think. Besides that it is of course also great to get free clothing or being feautred on other accounts to gain more popularity but the main fun part about it for me is working together with others.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

I think it is really important to keep your own style and signature mark. Of course you have to be modern and innovative to keep people interested in your brand for example and you have to come up with new modern and sometimes shocking ideas. Personally what I do to keep my authenticity is by staying myself and not trying to copy any other instagrammer. Everyone has their own style and thats what I love so much.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

The best advice I have is to post high quality pictures. Taking photos in bad lighting or some that are blurry won’t look good. For me it is quality over quantity so the pictures I post I carefully select judging by the camera quality and content. It is important for me that my photos are not resembling others too much because no one wants to see the same pictures everywhere, so posting original content is really important for me

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

Partnering with brands gives you the opportunity to grow your instagram and receive new prodcuts and possibilities. I love the aspect of working together for each others benefits.
