1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?
My name is LaDaska and I’m a fashion Designer, food writer, mom, and author of EAT Like You’re NAKED…14 Day Detox. I’m originally from Dallas but currently living in New York persuing my passions in all things creative. I recently re-launched my line, LADASKA MECHELLE and working on my second cookbook to help people with transitioning to become vegetarian and vegan.
2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?
My topics of interest are mainly food but I also include a little bit of fashion and some fitness workouts and my journey into health.
3) How did your Instagram name come about?
My Instagram name came about several years ago when I came up with a blog name. 2 years ago I started a blog called Food Junkie 21 where I write about food and fashion through story telling. So last year, I started posting images on IG with the same name but didn’t do too much with it until I started talking about my story and decided to post often through social media images of the food I cook. I wanted to be able to inspire people.
4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!
I normally don’t edit my photos because I have an iphone6s and the camera is great.
5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?
I really like Chef Anki page
6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?
I am in love with T25 right now so I would say the T25 workout plan with Shaun T.
7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?
I enjoy being able to share my story, my journey and being able to help people along the way. When you start something new, most people don’t know where to start, so I enjoy that part of being able to share my ups and downs and the journey we share and have shared. Being able to change someone’s life by creating a recipe or by sharing my journey about fibroids or having 3 children and gaining a lot of weight but being able to shed 100lbs by changing my relationship with food.
8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?
My top tips for brands would be to communicate what the expectations are. Give a timeline for campaigns.
Being that I have not partnered with any brands yet, I would maintain authenticity by trying out products before posting my review because I am firm believer in sharing what I a m passionate about.
9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?
I have always been a person with high standards and expectations so I expect the same with content. I would advise that research on the topic you are posting about and firmly believe and live the life of your content. Example, I live the life of a fitness enthusiast, so I share my fitness journey but I also am a mom and cook almost every day , so I write about the food I eat and cook.
Whatever lifestyle you live, share that experience because you are familiar with that experience and can share your views on life through your experiences.
10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?
Being that I have not partnered with any brands yet, I am not able at this time to answer this question.
