Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Kylie Rodriguez @miss.kyro

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

My name is Kylie Rodriguez (alias: Miss Kyro) and I’m a Filipina who was born in the United States and grew up in Germany and Thailand. I’m currently working as a writer for an interior designer’s website and building my personal brand on the side.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

On my Instagram account I showcase my daily aesthetic, stylish looks, and my ever-growing obsession with sneakers and streetwear

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

My full name is Kylie Rodriguez, so I just took the first two letters of my first name and the first two letters of my surname, combined them together, and came up with KyRo. I added the “Miss” as a tongue-in-cheek stylized form of my alias.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

For my visual aesthetic on Instagram, I try to go for that edited-but-doesnt-look-edited style. I mainly use just the Instagram app itself when editing my photos.

Since I don’t use filters, I mostly play around with the brightness, contrast, and temperature hues until I get my desired effect. I try to keep my photos moody, so most of them are on the darker side.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

I am really inspired by the Instagram feed of @lizmariahv

6) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

To me, my favorite part is being able to promote brands and products that I believe in and showcase my own personal views in the process.

7) What’s your favorite part about StarNgage? Any exciting campaigns that you have joined through StarNgage before?

The best part about StarNgage is that it offers influencers a great platform to collaborate with so many different brands and work on various campaigns. It’s a great bridge between influencers and relevant companies.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

My top tip would be to stay true to yourself and never ever sacrifice your authenticity for popularity. Pick and choose campaigns that you strongly believe in in order to help build your own image and brand as well. Don’t just work on random campaigns that you don’t even stand for.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

It’s extremely important that you produce only your best output and that you are 100% happy with the finished result. It’s difficult to be completely original in a world where almost everything has already been done before, but putting your own spin on old ideas is a great way to add freshness to something “been there, done that”.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

I like being able to take a brand’s message and then communicating that message in my own personal way that apepals to my followers as well as to my own self.
