Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Kieran Douglas Jones @kierandouglasjones

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

My name is Kieran Jones. I’m 20 and from West Wales. I am the founder and owner of Fortem, a brand new fitness and lifestyle apparel brand.

I’m a semi-professional rugby player, online coach and trainer so have a heavy interest in strength and conditioning.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

As a semi-professional rugby player, fitness brand owner, online coach and trainer I have a heavy interest in health and fitness, in particular conditioning training in a similar style to that of Crossfit.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

My Instagram name is simply just my name, so nothing more complicated than that.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

Many of my photos come from my training or cooking footage. So, as a YouTuber I create and edit my workout footage. While doing this I will take still shots from my workout clips and schedule my posts into the app Later (Formerly Latergramme) to post at the best possible time.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

Some of my favourite Instagrammers are also some of my favourite YouTubers, and coincidently some have an association with Alphalete Athletics.
First on the list is Christian Guzman. The owner of Alphalate. I absolutely love the view of his life that he provides through his Instagram and YouTube channel.
Also, Javon Alvin and Shawley Coker are another two of my favourite Instagrammers.
Then, aside from some of the guys at Alphalate. Steve Cook is an absolute favourite of mine. A really cool and very interesting guy that again gives a huge look at his life both on Instagram and YouTube.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

Just enjoy creating content and interacting with others. That is the fun of Instagram. Creating excellent, interesting content and throwing yourself out there and mixing with others.

If there is a piece of content that you like, tell the creator, let them know. There is no better feeling than being told that someone really loves something that you have created.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

My favourite part about being an influencer is helping brands create excellent content that others are going to absolutely love.

There is absolutely nothing better than being told that someone loves something that you have created. So work with brands to create something truly exceptional together.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

Being the owner of an apparel brand and having worked with other apparel brands, the biggest sense of authenticity that you can create is ensure your clothing is being worn in your campaigns and even get some “action” shots. Although this isn’t necessarily authentic, people want to see your apparel being worn, and will absolutely love to see it in action.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Quality is unbelievably important. Creating quality content is absolutely imperative. No one wants to see grainy, low quality photography, so high resolution, quality photography is definitely one of the most important things on Instagram.

Creating original content will really help set yourself or a brand apart from others. This helps massively in terms of building brand recognition.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

Partnering with brands is really great. For me, I have a unique outlook on working with brands because I get to see things from both the brand and influencer point of view.

I really love working with brands to help them create exceptional content as well as helping them build awareness of their brand.
