Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Kayla Phelps @sunshineproblems

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I am a software quality assurance engineer for a start-up tech company during the day and I moonlight as a ghost writer at night! I’m also an aspiring lifestyle blogger and plan to grow my Instagram presence over the next few months.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

I’m interested in self-improvement, food, fitness, beauty, makeup, fitness, style, fashion, home decor, travel and organization! I post a ton of food, fitness and travel photos.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

It is branded from my blog, sunshineproblems.com

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

A Color Story is one of my favorite photo-editing apps as I’m in love with color. Cool tones mixed with neon colors is my favorite combo. I like to turn up the contrast, turn down the temp and focus on a specific color.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

So many! Everything from vegan foodies like The Vegan Couple to lifestyle vloggers like Aspyn Ovard. Probably the most inspirational Instagrammers to me are the ones who have similar style to my own because I can look to them for outfit and decor ideas.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

Start a blog! If you already have a huge Instagram following, expanding your online presence could be a really smart move.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

Trying new products and sharing products with people who I think would benefit from them!

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

Be as subtle as possible – there are so many advertisements on social media already. It’s important to make posts realistic and tasteful.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

It’s so important to focus on what you’re truly interested in because the enthusiasm and passion will come out in your writing and photography.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

There are so many brands out there and it’s so much fun to dig through and find the brands that are truly the best.
