Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Kat M. Cabral @katfromjupiter

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I reside in the capital city of the Philippines in Manila, but I’m always looking for new places to explore with my penchant in traveling and the nomadic life. A student of literature and a purveyor of all things books and writing-related, i love anything that revolves around art–including my passion for food and travel photography.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

I don’t go traveling without a camera on hand to take snaps of life in new places in different angles. If I’m in one place, I love photographing what’s on my brunch table. 🙂

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

Once upon a time back when I was in the wee age of eight years old, my obsession with astronomy and aliens produced my first email address in the lines of “katjupiter” (not the exact one, hee.), in my dismay of not being able to have kat@jupiter. To pay homage to that and my continuing fascination with the realm, history was made in the form of my Instagram brand.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

My routine is as follows: VSCO, Snapseed and then the Instagram editor itself. There are a lot of settings adjusted among all of these, and I have a particular fondness for Snapseed because of its intricacy. Details can be everything!

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

There are a LOT of Instagrammers that make me go “I wish I took that shot!”, such as @taramilktea whose flatlays and scenic travel photos are a big influence to me. Like they say, #goals.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

Explore and discover, whether they’re photo apps or the world to capture.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

It’s connecting with people from different points of the world who share the same wavelength and interests as you, one not possible a hundred years before, but now made easy with a simple double-tap. How cool is THAT?

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

Connect to your audience in a personal level, putting influencers in the mix is already a giant step ahead! Authenticity comes in believing what you promote, and loving it is a big plus.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Quality is what distinguishes you from the rest of the many squares (literally) of Instagram. If you found your “you” in the form of a niche or a filter, run with it!

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

Widening your knowledge, discovering new products and sharing it with your audience are definitely perks of it, but it is also the connections you create.
