Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Karabi @depetitedandelion

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I am a full time social media strategist and style editor and a part time fashion blogger. I am from Assam, India but I have lived in many places and hence I would like to say I belong a little to each of this place.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

My topics of interest are fashion, style, human emotions, travel, love, universe, food, history, mysteries and philosophy. I post mostly my outfit shots, flat lays, pictures with people I love and some selfies here and there.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

My instagram name is the name of my blog actually. I have a certain liking for French culture and styling and so I wanted it to be part French, which is why De Petite. Also the De adds a personal touch to it, which I really like. And Dandelion because its dreamy and you blow into this wild weed to make a wish. I believe I am wild at heart and I want to be a person that makes people’s wishes come true some day.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I have a very easy and regular but very practised routine for editing my photos. I use Snapseed and VSCO mostly. I tune the image in terms of brightness, contrast, highlights, shadows, sharpness on Snapseed. Then use the VSCO filters. I love bright colourful images, so my favourite filters are C1 and F1.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

I love Gary Pepper Girl, her images are so well thought and clean and very artistic. I also love Ravi Vora’s images, they take to places you never imagined.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

I am still learning so there is nothing I can still tell or teach that they will not know. But I really want to say that Instagram needs to be an expression of who you are and not something you do because everyone else is doing it.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

I love , when I wear an outfit and I see someone else try to use their clothes to create an outfit inspired exactly by mine. I am told I inspire people to make an effort about how they look and I think that is a good thing. Because when you look good, you feel good.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

I would say campaigns need to be focused at the target audience but they need to pick the influencer not based on the no of following they have but based on if the influencer truly portrays the brand’s values and aesthetics. Maintaining authenticity is as simple as being true to oneself and following no rules but only going by what you feel right about.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

The importance of quality and original content is immense. Instagram is like art, if you do not maintain quality and originality, there is no point expecting results.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

The best part about it is the coming together of diverse concepts and becoming one and promoting the brand as what it is to you and not promoting it for what you want people would accept.
