1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?
I grew up on a very small gulf island off of Vancouver Island BC Canada. Then I moved up to Prince George BC Canada a few years ago and just moved back recently close to the area I grew up in. I just got a job at the hospital in the town I am living in. I’m also working towards getting a certificate in Occupational Health and Safety as well as working on my photography every day.
2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?
I love anything to do with the outdoors. I am an explorer for The Outbound Collective. I do as much hiking as I can and write adventures for them. I mostly post landscape and Astro photos with some lifestyle and portraits.
3) How did your Instagram name come about?
I think my Instagram name is pretty self explanatory. It’s my name plus photography. I figured it would be best to change it and leave it like that so I can be easily found.
4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!
I use a Nikon D7000 DSLR camera and edit all of my photos on my laptop. Most of the time I use Lightroom but occasionally I use photoshop.
5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?
There are soooo many photographer instagrammer a that I love. Some of them are @tiffpenguin and @photojbartlett as well as @nikdunn. I could go on and on. But some of them inspire me to one day be like them and as successful as them and others inspire me to experiment with my photography.
6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?
If you haven’t yet… I think everyone needs to try Astroohotography at least once!
7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?
Being able to inspire people to get outside and explore. There’s not a better feeling when someone comments on a photo I post saying OMG I need to go to Canada or I want to go to that place!
8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?
I think running campaigns is important but what is also important is to make sure you aquire the “average” people to promote things. As other folks would be more likely to reapond. Keep it real. Don’t pretend to be something you aren’t.
9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?
There are a lot of photos in Facebook from the same places… Which is fine but some can be overdone. Go photography new and exciting places!
10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?
Being able to join forces with a brand I love and use is awesome.
