Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Justin Chin @just.in.chin

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I’m 16 this year. I’m an explorer, photographer and I’m into the fitness lifestyle. I’m from Malaysia, Selangor

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

My topic of interest will most likely be exploring abandoned buildings or high roofs. It gives me a sense of life from everyday studies. I post mostly branded clothings and rooftop pictures on my account.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

My name is Justin Chin, I could’nt get the username Justin or Justinchin so i put dots inbetween

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I mainly use lightroom, photoshop and vsco. I lower contrast and shadows mostly to bring out the details in a picture then I play with colours so my pictures will look more interesting. I’ll head onto photoshop if there’s anything that needs fixing then finish it off with hypebeast filter on vsco

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

My favorite instagrammer would be brandonwoelfel. He turns under exposed pictures and turn them into fantasy-like pictures. Everyday posting new content that involves fairy lights, prisms , smoke grenades etc

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

To be yourself. Don’t always copy other people’s pictures and discover the talent in photography in you. You’ll maybe get better results if you play around with angles

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

I wouldn’t call myself an influencer just yet. But my favorite part is when people comment and compliment your pictures and when I get to introduce new things for people to tryout

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

Brands should always promote their products to a certain amount. If I see a brand advertisement more than 4 times a day i’ll get annoyed and probably won’t check the brand if it does not look interesting

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Never copy others and be yourself. People follow you to see your content and not others

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

They give me an entire new experience to promote their brands and it helps me try different angles to take a nice picture of the product
