Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Juliette Sureau @silver_and_jules

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I was born in Los Angeles, CA, grew up in Rochester, NY, and I now go to school in Lynchburg, VA as a cinematic arts student.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

Although film is my passion, I have always loved fashion and beauty so I decided to create an Instagram dedicated to these interests to share with other young women.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

My name is Juliette but sometimes people call me Jules. I wanted my Instagram name to be at least a little personal so I twisted the phrase silver and gold around to create Silver and Jules.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

For my pictures taken on my phone, my favorite apps to edit with are Rookie Cam and PicsPlay. I usually brighten the photo and if it is a selfie, sometimes I will use some touch up tools. When I take photos with my Canon t3i, I use PicMonkey which is an online software.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

I love following other beauty and fashion accounts to draw inspiration from. Some of my favorites include @beetotheo, @iamamypham, and @michellephan. They are all beautiful people with great talent for makeup, fashion, and photography.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

Travel! Explore! Living in America, I find that too many people have never been out of the country. What better way to add color and spice to your Instagram but to travel somewhere new and post about it?

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

I used to be a makeup artist for a brand called BareMinerals. I loved it, especially being able to help and inspire others. I can do the same through Instagram by influencing and empowering young women to know they are beautiful and to feel confident with themselves.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

I think it is important for brands to invite and involve social media influencers. Social media is everything these days and Instagram is a huge way to promote. I think it is smart for brands to establish relationships and partnerships with influencers who share passion for the same subject.
When it comes to maintaining authenticity, the best way is to just be yourself. If you are yourself 100%, then you should never have to fear about copying someone else or losing your authenticity.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

With so many social media accounts, everyone wants to be noticed. This is why it is so important to maintain quality and originality. This is the best way to stick out among the crowd. Use your creativity to come up with new concepts and if executed well, they will no doubt catch some eyes.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

I love to discover and partner with brands I share a passion with. It is a fantastic way to meet likeminded people and help promote something we are all believe in.
