Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Jovana Mikicic @4pologize

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

Hello I’m Jovana and I’m a 18 years old student from Germany. I was born in Serbia which explains my untypical name but I moved at the age of 4 to Germany.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

At the age of 10 I discovered my passion for photography and since then I improved my editing and photography skills and started building a social community. Fashion is an importan topic for me and I love to share my favorite clothes and accessories on my social media. I’m not only obsessed with outfits, but I also loves to travel and to discover new areas all around the world.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

When I was younger I listened to the song “apologize” from One Republic all the time but because “apologize” was already taken I replaced the letter “a” with a 4.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I mostly edit with snapseed and with vsco. I try to make bright photos but I don’t like to overload my photos with filters.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

I love the popular Blogger “ohhcouture”, all her photos look perfect and her feed is in my opinion one of the best!

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

This one is a hard question, there are so many things that come up to my mind but I think the most important thing is to travel as much as possible.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

I love inspiring people with things that I like but the best thing about being an influencer is the positive feedback that you get from your community. It is so nice to have so many people “around you” who love the work you do!

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

Well, many brands underestimate how much work and time it takes to run a blog and to take and edit photos. I think it’s important to understand that we have also other cooperations running and that we can’t take and upload thousands of photos for one campaign. A good relationship between the brands and the influencer is also really important!

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

I think it’s important to love what you do and to have your own ideas in mind. I think it’s okay to get inspired by other Instagramers but I always try to import my own ideas in my work.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

It’s amazing how many people you get to know with cooperations. I talked to so many really nice and kind people and I love building up a long and good relationship to brands.
