Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Joshua Bond @joshuabond_

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

Hey! I’m Josh, I’m 27 and I’m from North Devon, UK. I currently work as a cinematographer for an advertising agency based in central London.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

My passions are within the health and fitness industry. Being active myself, a lot of what I post on Instagram is usually to do with my training, some sort of adventure or any projects that I’m currently working on.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

I wasn’t too creative with this… It’s just my name.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

The main app I use for editing photos is VSCO. I absolutely love the filters, they’re a great base to start off an edit. I also use Retouch, this is great for cleaning up your photos and removing any unwanted clutter. I tend to edit the videos on my Macbook just for speed – I use Premiere and After Effects for these.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

I’m really loving Brandon Woelfel’s (@brandonwoelfel) work at the moment. He’s got a really unique style – the way he colours his shots and his use of light within most of his photos. Lovely stuff.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

Post more videos! I’ve found that my videos get a lot more comments than my photos – they’re great for starting discussions with people that could lead to more interesting work.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

It’s like an extension to my full time job in advertising. It gives me a chance to think of creative ways to sell or promote something that I’m passionate about.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

Choose your audience – a great campaign is useless if the wrong people see it. I think the rise of influencers has really helped with this. Being able to select someone who is genuinely passionate about their product and able to target a very specific audience is brilliant – you can’t get much more authentic than that.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Creating original, engaging content is key. If all of your photos or videos end up looking like everyone else’s they’re going to blend in with the millions of other posts on Instagram. Keep developing and pushing your style.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

I love the whole process. Getting a brief; coming up with concepts/ideas; putting the product through it’s paces; creating the content. It’s what I love to do!
