Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Jewel Tan @jvwol

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I’m actually still a student in Singapore and I am graduating secondary school next year and I’m pretty stoked about it!

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

Usually fashion and make-up. I’ve always wanted to post my make-up tutorials on Instagram because some people asked me how I do my make-up. But I was and still am too scared because I am not a professional at make-up so, I’d definitely get judged. Hopefully, I’ll get my confidence soon!

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

My real name is “Jewel”. Some people pronounce it as “gee wol”. some pronouce it as “jeh well” but my name is pronouced as “ju wol” and i wanted to use “juwol” as an instagram name. But at that time, username was sorta taken.. so i replaced the “u” with a “v”!

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

VSCO, Afterlight, Glitché and snapseed!

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

the microwave food at 7-11. The Nasi Briyani is THE BEST microwave food I’ve EVER tasted.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

I get to share what I really love and people support me for it.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

Get your word out there on why you’re running a certain campaign.
Do whatever you want but research about it and see if anyone has done that before.
Which ever influencer influenced you to do your campaign needs to be credited. Because without them, the campaign would not have happened!

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Just be yourself and you can get influenced and inspired by certain people but always remember to credit them when you become a bigger influence.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

Being the influencer they chose is already the best part of partnering with brands. It’s basically an honour!
