Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Jessica Kurniawan @jeskurniawan

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

Hi, I’m Jessica, and I come from Jakarta, Indonesia. Now I am a freelance graphic designer, usually I handle social media, such as Instagram management for my client’s brands, or working on branding project for my client.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

My topic of interest is about lifestyle and beauty. I love sharing my daily activities, like what beauty products I recently bought, what outfit I wore that day, where do I went while I am travelling, and many more!

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

My Instagram name comes from my full name, Jessica Kurniawan. So it become @jeskurniawan.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I usually use VSCO cam apps to edit my photo’s filter. As for retouching some annoying background, or just me being OCD about my pictures, I use Photoshop Fix or Facetune. Usually to remove unwanted things on my pictures, and to desaturate color on things that is not the main vocal point.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

I loooove Glossier’s instagram, garrypeppergirl, and evelina! But I think, Songofstyle’s Instagram inspires me the most since she said that most of her pictures are just taken with an Iphone – but still dope!

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

I love being photographed, makeup, and trying new stuff. So I guess that sums up why I love being an influencer

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

To do campaigns and market it to the right audience, smaller audience with more specific audience can do alot more than big audience that is not narrowed down to your specific market

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Always do a lot of research if you are getting blank. Cause inspirations do come from a lot of research. Just use pinterest for example, but don’t copy the photos. You can just develop new concept by having a lot of research. And always use digital camera if you can. It will affect so much of your post’s quality

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

Whatever the brand is, me and the brands can get more engagement by mentioning or tagging or reposting the post! Because, for us influencer, engagement is very important.
