Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Jesphanie Goh @jesphanie

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

Hi everyone! My name is Jesphanie and people used to call me Jes. I am 21 years old this year and I come from Malaysia. I’m a Chinese and I’m a typical Gemini. I’m currently a student and I study early childhood education. I love to be with children and I learn a lot from them. I work as a freelancer and usherette often during semester break / when my schedule is not that full. I own an online shop on Instagram and I will join some bazaar to sell my clothes on the weekends. My hobby is reading novel and I love to sing. I’m a huge meat lover and I literally can’t live without meat and fried foods!

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

Food and drink, make up, fashion, book, travel. My instagram feed is all about food & drink and my own photography.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

Jesphanie is my nickname 😉 so I put it as my instagram name since it’s not taken by anyone.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I usually use VSCO, Snapseed, Pitu and UNUM to edit my photos. Firstly, I will use Pitu to edit my face if it’s necessary. I will edit my flaws away and make the photo looks nicer. (Big and obvious acne). Then, I will use VSCO to add filter to my photo and SE3 is the filter that I use for most of my photos. Snapseed is so amazing and it has a good selection of tools! Especially the “ selective” function. It allows you to adjust the brightness, contrast and saturation of a small, select/ particular area of your photograph. I will use it to brighten up some corners or dark parts to make the photo looks clean and bright. After that, I will use UNUM to plan for my instagram feed. UNUM displays a simple grid and the way that instagram displays your photos. So you can organise and arrange the photos for your future feed. And there’s a very useful function of UNUM, they will have a schedule reminder! It will allow you to set a basic reminder for yourself, so you will not miss and forget the time to post photos at a specific time. How thoughtful is UNUM? 😭 Lastly, I will think of a caption and hashtags and post my photo! 😉

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

I like Jessica Chaw the most. She really inspire me a lot with her cleverness, gorgeousness and her beautiful personality. Jessica did so well in academic and she just graduated as a bachelor with first class honours. She’s so good at playing piano and her idol is Jay Chou ( same as me we have the same idol for many years!) Jessica is so friendly and humble, i love how she interacts with her followers through having live on Instagram, she’s so nice and hilarious! Jessica is also a youtuber, she will upload her make up video and travel video often. And also, she’s an entrepreneur! She is currently running her own online clothing store and yas no doubt, she’s so fashionable. Jessica does inspire me in many ways and she’s definitely my role model to work harder towards my goals.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

Hmmm throwing up a bikini party? That’s what I heard from them last time! Hahaha!

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

I could share my thoughts and useful information to others. I love to tell story and share things that I know to others. I hope I can help and influence them just like how Jessica Chaw and other instagrammer influence me.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

For my opinion, having your own style is kinda important. Determine and identify the goals you need to achieve and have clear procedures to achieve it. Never afraid of being unique and different from others. Be brave to change and create a new thing and be creative so it could attract people’s attention more easily. Keep it real and have passion of what you are doing!

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Be original, be real and never copy or imitate others. Quality content is very important as it will affect the market, the buyers and also the product itself. A good, informative and knowledgeable content will help others to understand more and build up their trusts. Never give false/incorrect content that will lead to misunderstanding.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

I could know more about the products/ brand/ place / book and share my own thoughts and recommend it to others/my friends in my own way and style. I love sharing!
