Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Jelena @jelenamarinovic

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

My name is Jelena, I’m 25 and i was born and live in Zagreb, Croatia. I have Master’s degree in Economics and Business, Marketing department. I work in family company, but my passion has always been fashion and on Instagram I post pictures with fashion theme, because I find it entertaining to see how people react on it and on the other side I like to scroll other’s people profiles for fun and inspiration.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

I post on Instagram mostly fashion theme pictures – outfits, but I love also make up and traveling. I’m traveling to Thailand in February, after that skiing in Austria… So that is something that makes me happy a lot.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

It is just my name and surname. I haven’t had any original idea yet, but maybe that will change some day.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I use Snapseed to lighten up the picture, accent some outfit details… I like to keep my pictures natural looking and overphotoshopped.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

I love fashion bloger Negin Mirsalehi. She is beautiful, has great style and I love what she accomplished until today.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

I would recommend to everyone my all time favourite night skin oil from Khiels – it is great especially during this cold days. It makes your skin smooth and hydrated.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

It is always nice when companies approach you and send you free stuff, than you feel like you are doing things good. But the best part is really meeting new people on Instagram and on events – from fellow influencers to people who follow you. I really like that a lot.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

I don’t accept every offer. For example, not while ago one company approached me to promote some pills for growing hair. I didn’t accept that because Idon’t want to lie to my followers that my hair is thick and long because of that. My followers trust me and I don’t wanna lose that for nothing.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

The picture quality is important a lot. It is important to find good day light and angle for taking pictures. When you photoshop your pictures, don’t overdo it and stick to your feed theme.
When it comes to content, it is important to show your own style, not copying others, people see that. Also, don’t post to many pictures with the same outfit, one or two is enough, don’t post too many selfies unless you are beauty blogger… These are just some of them;)

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

I like that overall experience. I don’t make money from this, so I’m having fun being just around this world, learning processes, and to see if I accomplished what company asked me to.
