1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?
I was born in London, England and have also been lucky to have lived in Colorado, USA and am currently based out of Vancouver, Canada. I grew up spending every waking moment dancing (like literally would eat, sleep and breathe dance). Two fractured vertebrae and a broken ankle put an end to what I had hoped would be a fruitful dance career. At the same time, I graduated high school at age 16 and moved to university, where I spent four years pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies focusing on Political Science and German and a couple other subjects with a hope of one day working in an international field tying into my loves of traveling, writing, photographing, documenting, exploring and adventuring. I am a recent alumnus, and am working full time with plans on tucking away every spare penny to fund future adventures around the world.
2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?
I am an avid photographer, writer, adventurer, sunset chaser, hiker, lake seeker, view finder, coffee drinking 20 year old.
3) How did your Instagram name come about?
It’s my first and last name. Clean and simple and to the point.
4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!
VSCO is my absolute go-to. All my blog and Instagram photos are edited on VSCO. I might make a few tweaks using Snapseed such as tonal contrast or selective brightness, but otherwise it’s all just VSCO. I’ve been using the F2 filter on Instagram for about 10 months now – I find that using one filter keeps the feed as a whole looking consistent.
5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?
I am a huge fan of IAmGalla, and have been openly obsessed with TuulaVintage for as long as I’ve had Instagram. They live the travel lives I want. Oh, and also DoYouTravel – I mean, have you seen his photos???
6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?
Waking up to chase the sunrise at ridiculous hours of the morning.
7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?
When people send me messages about how much I’ve inspired them or how much they love my photos – it kind of validates it all.
8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?
I try to just turn the brand into something that already fits in my life. I love to hike and be outdoors, so when I was approached to represent a clothing company, I simply included their brand on those hikes I was already so passionate about – and the authenticity shone through.
9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?
Just be yourself! There’s no point in trying to copy someone else’s work, because then you’re not bringing anything new to the table.
10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?
Creative goals and challenges.
