Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Jamie @jamie_r0se

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I’m celebrating my 2 year anniversary living in Miami, originally from NJ and lived in Providence, RI for 6 years prior to moving here where I did my undergrad & Master’s in Communication. When I first moved I didn’t know a single soul but I began working for the Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce where I was able to grow a huge network of business connections and friends. Now, I’m an entrepreneur and have been hustling as such for the past year and loving every second of it. My company Rose Relations does PR and business development in the real estate realm but as an entrepreneur there is no limit to the amount and scope of projects I can take on, so I basically follow my passion and decide what to do on a daily basis, it’s always changing.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

I absolutely love the beauty of Miami and everything that Miami stands for, especially the things the outside world has no idea about, such as Miami’s booming start-up and art scene. My posts are mainly showcasing the architecture and real estate of Miami since that’s our main industry aside from tourism and with every post I add my special dose of female entrepreneurial spirit to the mix.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

It started as just a personal account like any other. It was private and it was for my friends and family to follow. My name is Jamie and my middle name is Rose, which is why my company is named Rose Relations. I’m super enthusiastic about building my personal brand so everything I do comes back to who I am in a hyper-personal way. And no, I didn’t choose to have a zero instead of an “O” in “rose”… jamie_rose was already taken.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I edit all my photos directly thru Instagram. I enjoy Prisma for fun to share photos with friends but I never use an outside app with any of the photos I post, and I’m sticking to that. I want everything to be super organic and original.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

Having grown my account to almost 30K in a short period of time, I’ve found it really fascinating to make a conscious effort to connect with other top influencers locally and beyond. I’ve met up with just about every Miami influencer in person and many I consider close friends. Some include the account managers for @brickell_living and @lifestyle_miami.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

Upholding the positive energy and vibes that we all portray thru our photos and captions. It’s one thing to say something positive and put that out into the world, it’s another to truly believe those things.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

I love that people look up to me for advise, for motivation, and to share my entrepreneurial journey. I paint my picture pretty nicely and it looks like I live this life filled with perfection and sunshine at all times but at the end of the day I go thru the same struggles as everyone else. Sometimes I’m upset, sometimes I’m going thru a failure or overcoming a mistake but at the end of the day, I want to show my followers that what really matters is perseverance. It’s somewhat of a “fake it till you make it” mentality.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

To be authentic you have to stick to the true voice of the brand. People don’t buy things because of any logical reason, they do so because of an emotionally triggered response. So speak the way the brand would speak and bring out those emotions that you know everyone else feels as well.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

There are different kinds of Instagram accounts. There are the regular people who are posting their day-to-day lives, there are the people who have become influencers because they are posting exceptional images, and there are the accounts that help support the entire Instagram hierarchy by re-posting photos with no original content. So, it really depends what kind of account you are, but for me, originality is everything. It’s part of my brand.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

Normally, I post pictures of things, people and places that I genuinely love and in a sense I’m endorsing them. I like to be able to give back to these ‘brands’ that are doing things the right way by giving them some extra exposure, they deserve it.
