Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Ivy "Coco" Maurice @ivycoco23

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

My name is Ivy “Coco” Maurice and I am currently a lifestyle blogger. I grew up is Los Angeles, CA and raised by a French and Jamaican family. A lot of my style has developed from my family and how I grew up. My parents blessed me with the ability to have 2 citizenships ( American and French), so I had the resources to travel to many places at a young age. Being exposed to the world allowed me to fall in love with different cultures, foods, people, and fashion styles.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

I truly have a passion for fashion, beauty, food, architecture, travel, and sports. I post my fashion looks on Instagram the most. My followers truly seem to gravitate towards my style

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

My name Instagram name came about because I put my birth name, Ivy, and my nickname, Coco, together. Since they are both 2 first names, it sounded very catchy. If you’re wondering how Coco stems from Ivy, it doesn’t. My nickname came from my brother when he was 3 years old. Before my mother birthed me, my brother pointed to my mom’s belly button and said “baby coco”, so ever since then my family started calling me ” Coco”.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I truly love using the photo filters that come with my iPhone. My favorite filter on the iPhone is Fade. I love the rustic but modern feel it adds to a photo. If the photo is too dark I use the VSCO app to brighten up my photos. Sometimes I like to lower the saturation levels if the photo is too overpowering for my feed.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

My favorite Instagrammers that I really like are Marianna Hewitt ( @marianna_hewitt), Carli Bybel (@carlibel), Joey Rosado ( @islandboiphotography) , Asiyami Gold ( @asiyami_gold). The Instagrammer that inspires me the most is Shirley Eniang (@shirleybeniang) because she truly is the ultimate fashionista that isn’t afraid to show her personality, style, and culture.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

My fellow instagrammers must try the Dagne Dover travel bags from the 365 collection. The material that is used for the bags is smooth, durable, and trendy. They are great for both men and women because of the unique colors they come in.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

My favorite part about being an influencer is knowing that I am inspiring someone and shining a positive light. Many young women, girls, and guys, constantly tell me that I am an inspiration to them because I am not afraid to be myself. I love showing my style, personality, and life. When people gravitate to my feed, it excites me because I know I am doing something right.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

My top tips to brands for running campaigns are making sure that the campaign excites people to buy a certain product or service. Also, whatever it might be, it must look appealing. Lastly, brands must pick the right people to represent the campaign. I maintain authenticity by surprising my followers and audience with something new through every post. Whether I am either teaching them something new or showing them something new, I make sure the presentation of everything I do is appealing to the eye but still represents who I am.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

It is important to have quality presentation and original content because it shows others that you are authentic. I always make sure my feed is cohesive because when someone looks at my page they already know from the first 3 photos if they want to press “follow” or not. People enjoy seeing raw and and real content that is of great presentation.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

I love being able to show my followers how amazing certain brands are. There are so many brands in this world and I have the ability to show and discover something to new to someone it’s the greatest reward. You never know how a product or service from a brand can impact someone so deeply.
