Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Gabriele @gabrieledimartino

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

Hi everybody! I’m an Italian emerging photographer, precisely from Milano. Photography is both a job and a passion for me and, right now, I’m working on the new campaigns for two Italian brands in cosmetics and optics, doing the postproduction and preparing the moodboard for the next big studio shooting!

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

My Instagram has various topics and post about my work and my life. I’ve no preferences on what I publish most, it depends a lot from the mood of the moment! I also use a lot Instagram Stories to show what I’m doing, spacing from postproduction and backstage to frames of life.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

It’s my complete name, easy and personal. A storyteller said my name sounds like a “brand” so I decided to take the chance.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I’m in love with Snapseed. I think it’s one of the most advanced photo-editing apps in the App Store, offering a quick way to correct exposure, sharpness and tones, applying also presets and fixes to make my photos “more mine”. I use also Photoshop CC on my Mac and Reflex Camera to take shots with my iPhone: it’s a great app to control all the settings and parameters, taking photos ready to be post-processed!

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

Tony Mahfud and Micah Gianneli are two examples. They have beautiful profiles on IG, with great shots and an amazing point of view. Tony’s page has terrific inspiring shots for me: colors, lights, locations and postproduction.. all is simply perfect!
Micah, instead, has created a recognizable style with beautiful professional shots united by the search of colors, light and perfection.
In italy, I follow with great interest Giampaolo Sgura, a famous high fashion photographer and Nima Benati, a young italian emergine photographer that has already signed lots of great campaigns all over the world.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

Lots of people I know and that use Instagram (and that I follow because they’re friend of mine) say that this social is just “a waste time”. These people must try its potentiality: with a simple photo you can express yourself and your actual mood, showing your unique point of view. It’s a great way to be connected with your friends, telling “your own story” and your life.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

Simply, it give you the chance to tell the “backstage” of your life, your work, your trips and your day. You can be also an inspiration for other people showing your potentiality and talent, demonstrating that everything can be possibile, if you really want and desire it.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

I have my own way to express myself with photography, so I think a lot about what I want to say with my photos. When I must realize a new campaign, I ask and research for lots of information about the brand to build the perfect photostory for it. It’s a great and hard work to do that takes a lot of time but I think it’s necessary to make everything more “personal”.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

In a world that every day shows us millions of images (Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Pinterest, Instagram..), it’s very important to realize something recognizable and unique, “buildt” exactly for the brand, take makes the potential customers say “WOW!”

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

What I like the most is talking about the upcoming project together! It’s always a great challenge for me because it allows me to express myself and my creativity, looking for something winsome to realize the perfect shot.
