Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Frederic Siebold @travel_fred

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I am a german travel blogger and influencer. I work with luxury hotels, resorts and (travel) agencies to gain hotels or brands social media exposure. In total I travel over 200 days a year. I studied OnlineMedia/Digital Media (Germany) and Screen Productions (Australia) and I am always on the move to produce high quality photography and film content.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

The most I post about travel, adventure, luxury places and lifestyle. I am really into photography, film, digital media and sports. I’ve seen a lot of “paradise places” but every time I get to a new beautiful destination, it takes my breath away.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

My real name is Frederic but everyone calls me Freddy or Fred. And Fred loves to travel, that’s why travel_fred.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

The most underrated editing app is Instagram itself. If you know how to use the manual editing settings, you can create some really beautiful edits. Besides that I use Snapseed and sometimes VSCO. Photoshop Mix and Lightroom are also installed on my devices.
Sometimes I do editing tutorials on my Instagram story. I show every single step and how I use the different apps. People really love some good advice. 🙂

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

There are so many talented photographers or Instagrammers out there. It would be really difficult for me to just name one.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

To travel the world! Leave your comfort zone and just get out there to experience new countries, cultures, food and so on. It will really open your mind, you’ll grow personally and you’ll fall in love with it.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

The best thing about being an influencer is definitely that I can inspire people. I talk a lot to my followers and answer their questions. I just love it to help other people. It really makes me happy. It also allows me to do what I love and to spread my advice.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

A lot of brands just want to run a cheap campaign. There are some brands they don’t even want to pay for your work. Please respect the influencer and especially respect their work. It takes a lot of time and planning to create high quality content. I don’t see myself only as an influencer, I am also a photographer and creative content marketer. Brands should be aware of that value and pay their influencer appropriately.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Original and quality content is a must! I only want to create and show the best content I can do. If it’s nothing special, people don’t care. That’s why I am always aiming for the best.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

I can try out their product or service and can share my experience with my followers.
