1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?
I’m a pure bred and raised Singaporean with a rather uncommon name. I am also a second year student taking on a diploma in SP Food Science and Technology. I’m rather curious yet introverted. I prefer losing myself in nature rather than being on the streets of Orchard Road.
2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?
I’m a nerd by nature. I love science and math. Other things that interest me includes photography, videography and editing softwares. I would go to the gym at least three times a week to keep in shape as well! My instagram feed is mostly filled with people that I care about or portraits of myself that I feel happy about. I’m a pretty insecure person so I’m very particular about what I post.
3) How did your Instagram name come about?
Falx – means scythe, in a way it’s a reminder of death, how short time can be and to always love and cherish people around me who care.
Bleu – represents the ocean, of how vast it can be. It reminds me of how there’s no end to explorations and to never limit myself from possibilities.
4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!
Usually I don’t. I prefer to keep images the way the are, perfectly imperfect. Most of my photos are shot by DSLRs or an iPhone. If needed, I would only crop the sizes of my photos.
5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?
Sam Kolder! He’s a true inspiration to me. Someone who is definitely living the dream. He’s a videographer for the chainsmokers and he works for @beautifuldestinations ! He gets the opportunity to travel a lot, to do cliff jumps and backflips. These are things that I dream to do one day too!
6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?
For that I would say to be yourself. Steer away from creating to false personas and be true to yourself. Think each post as a piece of art and a memory. They are invaluable.
7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?
I don’t actually see myself as one but I think the best part of being an influencer is the ability to connect with a large audience and to teach and preach goodness in people. To remind others to love, to care and to be kind.
8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?
For brands running campaigns, I think it is to be consistent with new creative content. I believe that it is important to provide consumers with evergrowing innovation in such a day and age. As for authenticity, I strongly believe in sticking true to your company’s motto and to always remember your roots. Personally, I’m not a big fan of product matching, I’m all about being fresh, new and yet original. So work and improve your line of products and not seek to replicate what others do.
9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?
For quality, I would think that everyone defines quality to varying degrees. To me a good quality content is something that is able to connect or relate to the audience. Originality is to not replicate other’s content, to produce work that you feel truely proud of and that you strongly feel represents you.
10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?
I think partnering with brands not only gives you opportunities to understand a brand’s culture and values but also it helps to build strong relationships for perhaps, future collaborations. It’s all about trust I would say. And it can only be successful when it works two ways. The influencer strongly stands for and supports the company’s belief and for the company to believe that the influencer can help to bring their products to greater heights.
