Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Eric Miyasato @enricoeric

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I’m a part-time photographer, currently taking photos of beautiful landscapes and people. I also enjoy creating composites that stretch my imagination, and hopefully yours. I was born, raised, and currently live in Honolulu, Hawaii – and enjoy every bit of this paradise I call home.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

My instagram feed consists primarily of portraits and landscapes. I love doing both. I started out as a landscape photographer – which I still thoroughly enjoy doing. When I ventured into portraits, it was easy because often times I will incorporate the two together.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

In high school and college, my friends would often call me enricoeric. I know. Not that interesting. But it stuck, and that’s how people know me now.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I do about 90% of my editing in lightroom. Lightroom has a lot of features that let me get what I need done. I can cull and process photosets quickly and easily. The other 10% is done in photoshop. When I need to do extreme retouching, photoshop is my go-to application.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

There are a lot of IG’ers who inspire me. I don’t think there is any one, or handful that inspire me the most. I guess you could say that I like a little bit of a lot of different people.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

Recently, I’ve been venturing into levitation photography. I absolutely love it because it’s different, new to me, and it forces me to use my imagination.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

My favorite part of being an influencer is the fact that I can visually share with everyone my world through my lens. Being able to create something new and different offers me a challenge that I enjoy. I am constantly looking to try expand my knowledge of photography and try different things.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

Always give your influencers the space to create something that matches their style and feed. Keep your guidelines and requirements simple. By giving us the flexibility to create, you are allowing us to forge something more organic that the public and our followers will buy in to and love.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Quality and originality are key to standing out in a crowd. If you have a style, stick with it. People with the same interest will gravitate towards your content. Just keep it real.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

Partnering with brands keeps me on my toes. I am constantly looking for things to create, and brands give me the opportunity to incorporate their product into my vision – and hopefully create something new and exciting.
