1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?
I’m a professional people curator and founder of the women’s focused networking organization called Six Degrees Society. After 6 years in the marketing world at fashion companies I was eager to create a society of like minded individuals that came together to offer resources, advice and real life connections.
2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?
Travel, food, cocktails are a few of my favorite interests. I post a lot of pictures of cheese platters, networking events, awkward faces and cocktails.
3) How did your Instagram name come about?
We are in super connected world and I’m shocked when there isn’t an identifiable shared connection with a person. But Six Degrees Society is on a play of the saying “Six Degrees of Separation” and how we are all connected through 6 people.
4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!
I love Camera + for a big burst of color that can transform a photo, however most of my photos are edited within the Instagram app manually.
5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?
I love instagrammers with a great sense of humor and quality photos. I love @Carobaker1 for drool worthy images and puns that will keep you LOLing all the way home. I really love what @KatTanita and @FashionableHostess have built. All of their images are so clean and perfectly arranged I can lose myself to scrolling for hours.
6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?
Sending Direct Messages! Some of the best partnerships I’ve created were born from the DM.
7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?
People looking to me for inspiration on cool places to eat and travel, I love sharing my recommendations with others.
8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?
Keep the copy to the influencer, otherwise the post feels like an inauthentic ad and loses the value all together.
9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?
Always give credit where it’s deserved and make sure to properly tag and call out your partners. Stick to original content and keep the repost to a minimum.
10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?
I love being able to showcase their product in use and seeing others interact with my post.
