Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Elkaine Barreda @elkainejayne

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I am Elk from the Philippines. Currently working as an audit associate in one of the big 4 audit firms in the world. I also do modeling on the side. I was born in Tacloban City, Leyte. The home of the happiest people in world. I have also experienced the wrath of Typhoon Haiyan and that’s when I started in my modeling journey and which inspired me to start being an influencer.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

My contents are mostly about Beauty, Fashion, Lifestyle. Mostly, I do honest reviews about the product and promote as much as I can. You can also see some posts about travelling, tourist spots, technologies, and all other things below the sun that I want to share to my audience that I think is relevant, will inspire them, or something they can relate to.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

as you can you see, my name is kind of unique. “Elkaine Jayne” something that rhymes. Also, my name “Elkaine” came from the word “Alkaline” which makes my name associated to the word. It may be kinda hard to pronounce but people keep on wondering about name.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

Honestly, First, I use photoshop for enhancing the photo. Second, I use lightroom for the filter to match with my feed.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

I love Jennifer Aniston’s Instagram account. She has a very huge following count and she uses her platform in a right way. She uses her platform to educate, influence, and be the voice of most people whom she shares the same beliefs and political views.

6) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

What I love most about being an influencer is I am able to make my advocacy happen. To empower women, to raise mental health awareness, and to help small business grow. It gives me satisfaction everytime my audience buy the product that I promote. It means that I am effective and I have the influence.

7) What’s your favorite part about StarNgage? Any exciting campaigns that you have joined through StarNgage before?

What I love about StarNgage is that they have a wide range of brands that you can collaborate with. They are fair when it comes to influencers. They give every influencer a chance and an opportunity to work with big brands.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

when running campaigns, it’s always nice to make a schedule for when to release the post of the specific influencers. It makes a big fuzz in Instagram everytime most influencers post the same product at the same time. It makes the people “interested” and “curious”.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Always know your Niche. Your strength and weaknesses. In that way, it won’t be hard for you to make a quality content. Never ever copy or even rephrase a co-influencer’s caption. Always always think from heart. Let your heart speak for the product. That’s when you’ll achieve a quality and original content.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

What I love most is the trust. The trust they’re giving me. They think I am capable of making it worth their while. Worthy of making me part of their campaign. What I like best is that it gives me the “voice” to really speak out about the brand by giving honest reviews. I am not the type of influencer who sugar coats reviews, who lies about reviews. This is why my audience/followers trust me enough to the point they buy the products I promote because I have always been so honest.
