1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?
I was born and raised in Hong Kong, until I went to New York for my college degree. That’s where I decided to step up my IG game, and before I knew it, I graduated, went back to Asia and now I’m going to work in Singapore!
2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?
FOOD! Specifically, it’s mostly desserts or healthy brunch food. But I do sneak in the random burger or selfie once in a while (that’s ok right?!)
3) How did your Instagram name come about?
It really used to be just my own name (boring, I know), and since even my family sometimes get my name wrong, I figured it wasn’t practical for an IG name to be that difficult. Time to think of a new name! I’ve always associated food or bright colors with happiness, so why not combine the two and follow a color diet for a happy life? 🙂
4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!
I used to just use Instagram for my edits, so I’m also going to use this as a special shoutout to all my foodie friends for telling me about these amazing apps!
1. Enlight – A life saving app that lets you fix specific parts of a photo!
2. Tadaa – Blurs the background
3. Ok I won’t lie I still use the Instagram edits as well
5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?
I’ve got to say – I love the styles of @moannaxdessire and @cbyyy, both based out of Hong Kong.
6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?
Avocado coffee. I know it sounds weird, but life’s all about trying new things right?
7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?
Handsdown the chance to meet other influencers. Everyone I’ve met so far has such different backgrounds but we all share one same passion, which gives us the perfect thing to bond over. It’s quite something to see each person put their own unique talents to use!
8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?
Stay true to yourself!! Meaning that If you have a theme going on, stick to it! I’ve worked with brands that might be more serious, but since my captions are mostly always puns, it becomes trickier to somehow cater to both. Nothing that can’t be solved with a bit of creativity though!
9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?
It’s definitely a lot more important than you might think! Instagram’s been around for quite a while now, so there’s basically accounts for everything. These guys all have the first mover advantage, meaning that we either have to be super original in posts or to maintain consistency in quality!
10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?
The best part is definitely the chance to talk more closely to the brand’s owner – learning about how they developed a brand or what inspired them is truly fascinating and inspirational! 🙂
