Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Darren Chow @darrensoap

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I am a Malaysian living in Johor Bahru. I just graduated from University and just gotten back from a long term trip to New Zealand.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

I am an avid photographer and mainly post mostly on landscape and urban photographs. I am also interested in portraiture but have yet to start exploring that aspect.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

Its a nickname I give myself mainly use on the internet and social media. Darren is my name and I add a soap because when my Chinese name is reversed it means soap.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I use to edit on my mobile using VSCOcam but now I just edit on my computer with Adobe Lightroom.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

There is many instagrammers I like. Mainly s.1972 and t.1972.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

Taking aerial shots from high rise buildings!

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

The best part of being an influencer is to be able to use the platform to communicate a positive message.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

I think campaigns should be run as real and as positive as possible. I just try to post shots that are not artificially created or edited to much.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Just go out and explore!

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

I haven’t really partner with any brands yet, but I would love to try!
