Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Courtney Bergk @cbergk

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

My name is Courtney Bergk, I am 26 years old living in Newport Beach, California and I am a certified personal trainer, a model, I do mma, stream videogames on Twitch with Rampage Jackson and I run a commercial real estate appraisal firm.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

I am extremely active and LOVE working out, health and fitness and athletic wear. I also have a hedgehog and a pitbull I am obsessed with so I tend to post a lot of animals as well. I am trained in MMA and am friends with a few fighters so I post our strange adventures as well. I stream live on TWITCH with Rampage Jackson every Friday which is always a blast!

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

I have always been called by my last name since it is unique in America. My brother goes by Bergk and I am Cbergk. My office calls me that-it’s the only nickname I have ever had.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

Perfect365 is great for those days where I don’t wear makeup but took a super cute photo with Edwin (my hedgehog). I add mascara and eyeliner just so it looks like my regular make-up routine. I also use InstaEditor if I need to adjust settings. Instagram has gotten really great about editing photos within the app itself so I don’t use many outside apps anymore unless it is to whiten teeth :P.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

I am obsessed with Kayla_Itsines her workouts are phenomenal, she is so kind and her posts are always uplifting and inspiring. I follow a ton of personal trainers to draw inspiration from and keep myself motivated.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

Maven Clinic is the most revolutionary thing I have ever been a part of. 7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

It is amazing how many people have told me that they have worked out because of my posts. It is incredible how many old friends or distant family members have said they take their health more seriously because of the transformation they have seen from me-there is no better feeling in the world!

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

I would never promote a product I don’t actually use or enjoy. I think brands need to find users that promote their lifestyle and attract the audience they wish to sell to. I am a very passionate person and I can only speak highly of brands I actually use/wear/am involved with. My audience knows this about me and knows I am a genuine person which gives the brand more credibility as well.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

It is 2016, photos should only be high quality. If I see a grainy photo or overly edited photo I no longer trust that person with my business. I don’t see a problem with re-posting a funny meme or a photo that another model/photographer took as long as credit is given.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

I love the relationships you build both with the brands and with potential clients and my followers in general. I like to hear people’s opinions and expose them to new and exciting products/services!
