Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Clara @oreocheesecake

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I am Clara, 20 this year, from Singapore. I’m currently a university student. I am a major foodie (hence my username). I love travelling and taking pictures. My favourite sport and hobby is inline skating.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

I post about the fun things in my life, especially about school life, friends, or just little updates on my life. I try to keep my post fun and relatable to my followers, in which most of them are my friends. Since I love travelling, I always post tons of pictures when I travel, as I treat my instagram page as a travel diary.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

Simple: my love for oreo cheesecake. It’s my favourite dessert. Anytime when I’m feeling down or angry, just get me an oreo cheesecake. It’s instant happiness. At least to me. I was surprised it was available when I created my account.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I use Photoshop most of the time. Sometimes I use pics art or Line camera for the interesting filters. I love playing with instagram filters too. However, I try to keep it as natural as possible, without much filtering. Most of the time I add only one filter at 10%, and the rest are usually playing with lighting, highlights, saturation and warmth.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

I love Sheidlina. She’s from Russia, and I find her an amazing artists, and how she turns her photoshoots into incredible artpieces. However, I am nowhere her level. I’ll just stick to posting about my life for now.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

Try doing #makeup and #nofilter. Let’s keep things original and fresh. Well that’s what I usually do. Keep things original.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

Sharing about brands I love, and also discount codes. Who doesn’t like discounts!

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

Let the influencer be creative about his/her post. Let him/her connect with his/her audience. Be more flexible in what the influencer would like to post. Most importantly, commucate with the influencer on ideas of content creation.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

To me, originality is really important. Originality keeps the creativity and authenticity of things. It gets boring when we see the same things over and over. Especially being an influencer, quality post is key to attracting your audience and keeping up to standards. When someone sees a really nice picture, he/she would definitely give it a like, likewise for bad quality pics, people would just automatically move on to the next post.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

Discounts of course! And also the experience of trying new products and sharing about them.
