Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Christopher B. Artisin @toffee.a

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I’m Christopher B. Artisin also known as “Toffee A” by my friends and colleagues and I’m 22 years old from Cebu, Philippines. I’m a fashion illustrator who love to draw everything about fashion and also I draw some Hollywood celebrities. I really love fashion, it’s what keeps me going every day. I express myself fully into my illustrations. My dream is to become a fashion designer and I hope one day I’ll achieve it.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

My post on instagram are my fashion illustrations. I made some for the famous designer brands like Valentino, Chanel and Giambatistta Valli. I also made some illustrations of my favorite Hollywood celebrities like Taylor Swift, Fifth Harmony, Beyonce, Lady Gaga & Ariana Grande to name a few. I’ve also made some series of illustrations based especially when I designed something.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

I have a pen name “Toffee A” so that’s why I came up with “toffee.a” as my instagram name.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I’ve made my illustrations free hand using colored pencils and markers and after that I scanned and edit it out on Adobe Photoshop.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

Hayden William Illustrations, Eli Sketches and Armand Mehedri are my favorite fashion illustrators on instagram that inspires me every day. All of them have unique style and aesthetics of illustration.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

Try to be you. Do what you love most and don’t be afraid what others may say to you. Just be you, because we are beautiful in our own way.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

My favorite part of being an influencer is that you get to inspire people. I just started my fashion illustration in 2014 and looking back to it until now I have seen a lot of progress. I’m just starting out my illustration with stick figures of girls modeling my design. I look up in the internet how to be a better illustrator and luckily found some tutorials. I tend to follow some styles of one illustrator but I find it hard and one day I said to myself “you know what, I’m gonna do my own style and be myself and continue to improve everyday”. That became my motto. I want everybody to be themselves and continue to do to what they love the most. I want to show people that determination and practice will make everything perfect. Finally, my favorite part of being an influencer is to inspire people to continue what they love the most and be good in it.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

For brands to run campaigns is that they need to follow the legal ways and protocol when it comes to advertising for them to show that they are legit and can be trusted.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

The importance of quality and original content is totally necessary nowadays especially in social media. This defines you and what you do. Don’t try to copy and/or steal somebody’s work to avoid copyright infringement and the like. Create something that defines who you are and just be you. In that way people will know your unique style and personality.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

When partnering with brands I like best when you get to know the brand. I like exploring things and learning new things about the brand.
