Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Charlotte Price @scarletslippersblog

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I am a 17 year old beauty and fashion blogger from the East Midlands, Uk. Currently, I’m a student who thrives to become a performer or beauty influencer. As a teenager, I like to keep up with the latest beauty and fashion trends, letting everyone know my thoughts and views on the latest releases via my blog, or social media (mainly instagram).

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

On my Instagram, I love to post images of beauty products, makeup arrangements, flowers, fashion items/outfits and travel photos. I love to make my photos bright and vibrant, so that my feed stands out amongst the rest. I also love to update my followers on my latest blog posts through publishing instagram images.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

My instagram name, scarletslippersblog, came about because of my blog. My blog is named ‘Scarlet Slippers’ because I was obsessed with the musical ‘Wizard of Oz’ and wanted to create a spin off of Dorothy’s ‘ruby shoes’, those of which are the plot of the play. I love the name even 3 years later as it seems catchy.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

If the image I’ve used it taken on my DSLR, then I only slightly have to adjust the image on the instagram settings. I usually brighten/highlight the photo and add contrast to enhance the focal point of my image. Alternatively, I use VSCO cam to edit my images in a similar way, just adding further effects to enhance my photo.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

My favourite instagrammers are those with themed account – they are so aesthetically pleasing and makes me want to be regularly updated. I love @sarahashcroft because she uploads beautiful makeup, fashion and travel posts that make me so jealous of her lifestyle. I’m also a fan of @ladyhunter, as her images are all classy and have the same colour scheme (green and white) making her account look professional.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

They’ve definitely got to indulge more in the Instagram photo editing settings. I know a lot of people who just bypass editing on Instagram as they think the features are rubbish. However, they couldn’t be more wrong! I love to use the contrast and highlight to improve my image quality!

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

I love being a influencer, via social media and my blog, because I get to review products I love and share them with my viewers who I know will love them as much as myself. Also, I love the feeling of helping brands gain more exposure, especially because they completely deserve it from the creations they’ve made!

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

I think brands running campaigns should be aware of the influencer’s target audience and whether their brand will gain maximum exposure through them. An audience is, of course, the biggest factor for brands to have in mind when choosing the right influencer. Also, I think it is simple to maintain authenticity, as long as the influencer appears genuine through their social media. I also give my honest opinions and would not recommend brands that for my influencers, if I wouldn’t use the products myself.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

My advice would to be – always be yourself. Keep your content personalised so that whatever you create is original and your own masterpiece. Don’t look at anyone else’s content for inspiration – this could steer you away from your own personality. Let people into your mind through your written and creative work.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

I love that I am able to build a community and something special with a brand I might completely fall in love with. One of my favourite things is meeting new people and indulging in other people’s lifestyles so I love to talk to brands and brand owners and listen to their stories.
