Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Brett Donar @papaandco_

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

My name is Brett and I am a husband, father and photographer. After having our son, I started a lifestyle blog for the modern father, called Papa & Co. It’s a resource for fathers who appreciate good design and love being a father in todays world.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

I mostly share snippets of life with a little one, travel and sometimes products.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

It’s derived from my blog, Papa & Co. I named the blog Papa & Co. because of it’s simplicity and relevance to fatherhood and family.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I mostly use VSCO. I try to keep it simple, so my routine is pretty simply. I usually use the A6, M5 or S2 presets in VSCO, then I apply a tad bit of contrast, bump the sharpness a little and add a little bit of fade.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

There are a ton, but I’ve always really enjoyed @amandajanejones and I really dig what the folks at @tosanknowsbest are doing.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

Hmm…

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

It’s a lot of fun to get to work with brands I admire and respect, but it’s even more fun to get to introduce those brands to people who will hopefully really be into those brands and products too. It also really opens up a lot of other opportunity I might not otherwise have.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

Definitely let the influencer do the initial write up for a caption so that it remains in their voice. If you need to have it tweaked a little, let the influencer do so, just give them the right amount of direction.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

I think its the most important part of being an influencer. Generic, cheap seeming campaigns can truly ruin a brand.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

I like working with brands that I actually use or would use otherwise to bring awareness of their brand to others who might not have come across them on their own.
