1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?
Simply put, I am an artist.
I am a photographer, cinematographer, and creative director based in Portland, OR.
With more than 5+ years of experience in expressing my artistic vision through various mediums, I have become confident in creating for others. My inspiration comes from the people I meet, the places I see, and the many beautiful experiences I’ve encountered throughout my journey. My passion is to connect ideas (my own or others) to tailored visual experiences.
2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?
Capturing the human experience and emotion is what drives me to create. My most recent work has been a lot of conceptual and fashion portraiture. You’ll be seeing a lot more studio work soon so follow along.
3) How did your Instagram name come about?
It’s simple. The name @brandon was taken so I had to settle for my first and last name.
4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!
I usually edit my mobile photos with VSCOcam and Instagram but lately I’ve been dabbling with RNI Films. It has the best film simulation I’ve seen for an app. I recommend trying it out. If I’m sharing my other work, I usually process my photos in Adobe Lightroom with some presets I created.
5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?
I have so many artists who’s work I follow on Instagram. To name a few; @cschoonover, @tuamarika, @s_franklin, @laurynholmquist, @bronsonsnelling, @noahsahady, @jameslacroix, @parker.thorton
I could go on but the one artist who’s work has inspired me most is @cary.fagan, a Houston-based analogue photographer. His work is breathtaking.
6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?
Stop trying to please people. That has been my biggest block in allowing myself to be creative. Just create.
7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?
People are people. Making genuine connections is why I do what I do. To be able to share my work and it inspire others is why I love Instagram.
8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?
Invest in your audience. People are your most valuable resource. Don’t sacrifice quality for quantity.
9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?
I’ll say it again. Don’t sacrifice quality for quantity! Your brand should be centered around people. That keeps your content authentic and if you’re working with other influencers, you are helping support their lifestyles.
10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?
I love creating for others. I always find it challenging but exciting to partner with brands and make something unique and meaningful that will potentially leave a lasting impression on their specific audiences.
