Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Billy Lawrence @trippinbillys

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

Hi, my name is Billy Lawrence, I am 22 years old. I am a professional photographer based out of Phoenix Arizona. I recently graduated from Arizona State University with a degree in Business Tourism. I currently do free lance work for a few different companies and organizations located here in the phoenix valley.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

My topics of interest include adventure and travels posts, snowboarding and electronic dance music photographs. I mostly post portraits, events and landscape photography.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

The name trippinbillys originally came from Dave Matthews Band Song “Tripping billies”.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I use Lightroom and Photoshop to edit my photographs.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

Brettfhill. He posts some of the best portraits I’ve seen on instagram.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

Try uploading content twice a day. Once in the afternoon when everyones on their lunch break at home and another post in the evening when everyone is at home.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

My favorite part of being an influencer is creating engaging content that my followers want to see.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

Transparency is huge for me. I want to be able to have communication be clear and direct. If you want something explain it clearly enough or show me examples of the work of the work you want me to do.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Just be yourself and post what you like. Ideally as an influencer you shouldn’t post someone else’s work unless you have been given permission and give them the credit they deserve. However I think quality content on a lot of peoples social media accounts are lacking, not to say thats a bad thing, there are just very few people in my real day to day life that take content creation as serious as myself.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

The best thing about partnering with a brand is the challenge of creating something new and unique that the brand is going to love and want to share with there customer. I love the creative process that occurs when partnering with different brands. It helps myself grow as a photographer with every new client I work with.
