Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Billy Brayshaw @Billyilliam

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

My name is Bill Brayshaw. I live in Manchester but also work a lot in London. I’m an actor and model, so generally go wherever that takes me.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

I love all things fashion, lifestyle and mens skincare. I would say these are themes from my most popular posts, however I don’t like to limit myself to just these interests. I think its important for my feed to be a true reflection of who I am and I am generally just an all round creative.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

Well my real name is William, but everyone knows me by Billy, so I just merged them together to create Billyilliam.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I use the Airbrush app for whitening, and sometimes The NY filter. I also use Instagram settings to adjust brightness etc. If I’m feeling that the picture needs lots of work, I will even run it past photoshop.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

I am a fan if mens fashion blogs, GQ mag has a great mix of fashion and lifestyle. I love to wee different themes on a feed, coordinated uploads etc

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

I would highly recommend bringing in different styles to your feed and not being afraid to break it up. I often use different themes and block them off with uploads. I use a preview app before I uppoad to makesure it all fits.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

I love being an influencer because its a creative outlet. Its almost like a blank canvas. I love working with brands as it ties in very nicely with my modelling, however the difference with instagram is that I get more choice and the creative decisions/designs come from me.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

As a brand I believe it is important to look at quality not just quantity. The main purpose for a sponsored post to drive sales but also to show your product in its best light.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

This is terribly important. Personally, I love thinking about new ways to post a product/service, and I know what my followers respond to best. I would never repost or use another persons work because its not personal to me which in turn means my followers won’t respond as well to that.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

As mentioned, I love working with new ideas. Each brand has its own identitiy, which I am passionate about including into my posts. I always approach each brand/ concept with passion.
