Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Beatrice Velante @beavelante

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I started off as a bedroom rapper until I got picked up by a label. They helped me identify and develop my musical flavor and from there I found myself performing in clubs all over Manila. Now I’m in Sydney hoping to break into the underground scene.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

I try to make my feed beneficial to anyone taking a look. Whether posting something inspiring or informational… If I eat something that blows my mind, I want other people to know about it. If I use something that is effective, I want people to know about it. My feed is really more about other people than myself.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

It’s pretty boring. It’s just my name- easy to find!

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I’m not the most techy person around- I use the same filter on vsco cam for most of my photos. Open to tips and ideas for editing!

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

I have to admit, I don’t follow a lot of people on instagram. Otherwise, I will spend my entire day on social media. I follow 60 people and they’re all my friends. They all inspire me!

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

Just keep it real!!! I see so many influencers orchestrate their lives based on how they want their feed to look. If you’re at the beach, BE AT THE BEACH! You can still take photos but don’t put in too much of your time in making everything look perfect that you miss out on the fact that you’re at the beach. I see this happen way too many times!

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

I love the opportunity I have to inspire a big group of people.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

I’m just sick of seeing celebrities on ads. I think the time has come to be more creative than that!

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Quality to me is about how genuine a post is. I personally don’t work with brands that I don’t connect with because it just isn’t genuine. I take pride in how personal my feed is. It’s me. It’s real.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

I love being educated not only with the brands products, but with the brands history and culture and vision. I like brands that have depth and a story to tell. I love brands that are out to make a difference! That’s the most important thing to me.
