Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Aris Aglupus @theguynextoutdoor

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

A civil servant by profession, a mountaineer/travel organizer during weekends and/or holidays, a frustrated photographer and a coffee addict.

Currently working with a government agency that handles peace talks and negotiations related to internal conflict and rebellion in the Philippines most notably the CPP-NPA-NDF and Moro conflicts. I am an Ilokano from the Royal Province of Isabela living in Manila.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

I am fascinated with travelling, hiking/mountaineering, photographing and cooking.

I usually post themes related to silhouette, macro shots, adventure shots and dewdrops.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

Since I am an outdoor person and always want to get outside the office door especially during Fridays after office hours, thus, @theguynextoutdoor coined.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

Lightroom and Snapseed. I’m particularly focusing on straight horizon, ambiance, shadow, highlights, and clarity adjustments.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

@thelakwatsero – he is an idol. Aside from he is a good friend, he is a good inspiration when it comes to travelling and content creation.

6) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

Ummm. Do I consider myself as an influencer? I don’t think so.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

Be as realistic as much as possible. Know your target audience. Be an inspiration to people from different walks of life.

To maintain authenticity, you should be able to establish your marl or style. It should be distinct.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

The importance of quality and original content defines someone’s personality.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

Partnering with brands is a give and take relationship. It can widen your audience as well as it will give you an opportunity to influence others.
