Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Anthony Medina @anthony_medina

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I am originally from Brooklyn, New York (born and raised). My wife and I moved to Dallas, Texas in 2005 and have been here ever since. I currently work as a communications director at a church in Cedar HIll, TX.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

I am pretty all over the map when it comes to my Instagram posts! I have never stuck with one “look” or photographic style. If I had to choose, I’d say that landscape/cityscape photography is probably what you’ll find the most of on my IG feed.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

It’s my name, so I blame it on my parents!!

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

To shoot, I mostly use Camera+. I have recently gotten into the Moment camera app since I now have a moment case and lens. After the photo is taken, I process it in Snapseed (been using it for years, way before it was free). To me, Snapseed is the best photo editor on iOS. After Snapseed, I import to VSCOCam. Most times i’ll add one of their filters, but i’ll bring it way down so that it’s just makes subtle changes to the photo. After adding the filter, i’ll go into the controls and fine tune it, then it’s ready to post. I’m not a big fan of using a ton of apps, or over editing photos.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

Oh gosh yes: atjive, kevinhannphoto, jude_allen, jasonmpeterson. This list could be much longer, but I glean a lot from their galleries.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

SPAM!!! JK
It would have to be any of the Moment products. Their lenses are really incredible. Now that I have the moment case as well, it’s like a whole new world!

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

Sharing knowledge. Influencers shouldn’t keep what they know to themselves.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

Don’t be quick to jump on the latest fad or bandwagon. A lot of times, the latest “in thing” doesn’t mix with who you are as a brand, so just leave it alone. That Kardashian may make your business tank instead of grow!

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Take a ton of photos, pick out the best. Don’t see a photo on IG, then go out and make a carbon copy, try and enhance it. Everyone has a style, know yours and stick to it. The world doesn’t need any more clones, we need “one of a kinds.”

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

Creativity! I love the creative aspect of the whole process.
