Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Anoud Rifai @anoudrifai

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

Right now I’m studying Hotel Management in Brussels, Belgium. I am originally from Jordan, born to a Belgian mother and a Jordanian father. I lived in Jordan for 10 years and then moved to Belgium! Aside from studying Hotel Management I’m passionate about social media.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

I really love posting about make up and my outfits. Whenever I travel I try to post about the interesting things I encounter during my trips. I recently got weight loss surgery (a gastric band) and now I post about my experiences with that too.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

The app had been around for a while when I started and at the time I thought it would be another fun way to keep up with my friends.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I mostly use the Face Tune app to brighten up my pics, and other than that I use Photogrid to create collages when I need to. I don’t use any other apps than Instagram itself for filters.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

I follow soooo many inspiring Instagrammers! It’s hard to pick the one that inspires me the most, but if I have to choose I’d say kkimthai. Her pictures are always so beautiful, no matter what she’s posting about!

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

As in a product? I don’t really know. But what I feel all Instagrammers should do is interact with their audience. You can’t expect to be likeable or successful without the audience that makes you the influencer you are.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

The interaction with so many kinds of people! I’ve met so many cool new people through Instagram and I love it. And also the ability to promote things I personally think are good or will have a positive impact.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

I think brands should try and find influencers that will showcase their products well without making it seem like it’s a business deal between a company and an influencer. The way I want to stay authentic is by only promoting products or brands that I personally stand behind, and always staying honest.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

I think every single person on Instagram should focus on what makes them their unique selves. Focus on what makes you you! People follow Instagrammers because they like the person they’re following. So I would say, try and be relatable while still staying true to yourself. Post about what you love and what interests you and don’t let yourself be pressured into posting about “what’s popular now”, if you see what I mean.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

I love that working together with brands means that I can promote their brand in my own way. There’s only one me, so nobody else is going to be able to promote like me! That’s what is fun about brands working with influencers.
