Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Annabelle @annabelledane

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

Hi!! I’m Annabelle, and I’m currently 17 years old, living in Sydney, Australia. At the moment I’m completing my final year of school, and have absolutely no idea what I want to do after I graduate! The only thing I know for certain is that you can catch me travelling next year.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

I absolutely love beauty and design. Makeup and fashion both hold a big place in my heart, as they’re honestly the reason I even got into Instagram in the first place. If I’m not posting about coffee or my cat, you can probably catch me posting my face the most often. I love Instagram as a memory tool. It lets me capture and share some of my favourite moments with even a small population of the world, and I find it so interesting being able to interact in such a way.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

Honestly, you might have to trace my ancestors back a bit to find where on earth my last name came from, but you can ask my parents about the first half. I wanted to keep it simple.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I absolutely love Facetune for whitening any yellow/off-white tones, but my secret tip is using the editing tools that Apple gives you!! Ever since the iOS update, it’s changed my photo game!! The ‘brilliance’ tool is my best friend for evening out lighting and contrast issues, and the cool colour tone helps me keep my theme crisp, without being too in-your-face.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

I absolutely adore so many Instagrammers, and it’s honestly so difficult to pick a few, but I’d say that @Biancaelouise is one of my biggest inspirations. Bianca is also from Australia, and she’s created a multimillion dollar career through her passion. Her bikini brand took off, and one day I’d also love to be able to know how it felt to have Kim Kardashian wearing my own designs.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

You gotta try self timer!! It may feel a little bit odd, but it works wonders!! Lemme know how it goes…

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

I love being able to connect with brands and influencers all over the world! I find it incredible that there’s one place where everyone is able to communicate and produce content from anywhere and everywhere, and I absolutely love the happiness it’s brought so many people!

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

Be honest!! Brands love advice and feedback, and without it, change wouldn’t happen. If a brand asks you to review an item, be genuine. They crave your honesty, because in the end, it’s helping them to grow and produce to a high standard. Paid sponsorships often don’t look genuine, and that’s because they aren’t. You can tell when someone has no clue about an item they’re promoting, or when they simply want the money. Be genuine to yourself, brands, and especially, your followers. Honesty is the key to success.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

I’ve had many of my photos and artworks stolen over the years, and each time, the only emotion I’ve ever been able to feel is disappointment. To have someone take something in an instant, and ignore all the effort and hard work you put into it can be incredibly disheartening, so my advice would simply to put yourself in other people’s positions! Originality is something that is a difficult thing to define, as everyone has a different meaning of it, but ultimately originality is what will get you noticed! Brands want to give off high quality services and products, and photos need to fit this in order to continue that theme. All I can really say is learn the difference between copying, and taking inspiration from (and use a good quality camera!!)

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

I absolutely love connecting with other people over certain products and companies. My favourite thing about partnering with brands is being able to connect with them and learn all about certain things that they offer. I think it’s so interesting to hear different views on products and brands, and it really keeps me interested.
