Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Anja Stuurman @anja.stuurman.art

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

Hi, my name is Anja Stuurman – I am an artist/teacher/creative-coach from The Netherlands. Currently I’m working on a series of drawings called Hidden Stories. These are all drawn with charcoal, just back to basics in black and white, moving among contrasts. I’m an explorer of the mind, the inner space, creating from the inside out. I think I’m actually a storyteller. My art is my passion, my way to express myself. As an eclectic person I collect everything together that inspires me from photography, nature, architecture, fashion to music, dance, theater, literature and naturally art in general.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

I would like to inspire and motivate people through my stories by showing them my art journey in words and images. Topics that I post on Instagram are about my creating process, my inspirations, some thoughts of inner journeys, quotes and photos that I find interesting for sharing like my every day life at the studio, travelling and the beauty of nature.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

Simple actually, my Instagram name is my own name. I used my second name, Angelica, for years but decided to use my real full name now with Art added to the end.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I really love photographing. When I’m on the way I often use my phone, it’s so easy and takes little space in your pocket. Besides my phone I have an Olympus Pen. Generally I don’t use many filters, sometimes I edit with Adobe Photoshop when it comes to photos from my camera. Most of the pictures are from my phone, I use the Instagram editor features frequently, other than that I use Picsart and Snapseed.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

I get inspired by all kinds of Instagrammers, I love accounts about nature, photography, travelling, some lifestyle blogs, fellow artists and of course arts in particular.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

Don’t think outside the box…try to get rid of that box!

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

I still have to discover my favorite part because I’m a new influencer but I like the journey so far and hope to connect with many new people to share my work, my thoughts and inspirations..…inspiring others makes me happy, I really enjoy it.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

Stay close to yourself and be true to yourself, always!
Try to inspire people, reach out to them, listen and stay connected with them and don’t overload with too many posts. Develop your own style and have a continuity in style of posting so people recognize who you are and where you stand for.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Create a fluent content, create your story in your own style. Just the way you are is perfect, nobody can imitate that, you’re unique! And in being unique you show your personality that’s automatically original and authentic – quality over quantity!

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

I like the creative way of marketing, having a new challenge, collaborate and sharing a vision.
