Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Angelica Muk @Punkgurliegurl

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I’m a singer-songwriter, model and I act a bit from Singapore. Yeah full singaporean. People think I’m Korean or Japanese some even think I’m Cambodian! But I’m really singaporean Chinese 🙂

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

I like beauty, fashion, photography. Artsy kinda things intrigue me. From some of my photoshoot pics you can tell!
I post pics of myself a lot. I try to cut down on selfies and increase on things I do and stuff like that

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

It came about when I just created an Instagram account in 2012? I am a little boyish so – punk and a girly as well, but not the common girl, so it’s gurliegurl instead of girliegirl

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

Snapseed, VSCO. Everyone does it! Make sure the light is right, if it’s too dark VSCO won’t look good on it

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

I love @darylaiden, @angiewatkins, and @acaciabrinley
I know the first two personally, they’re great people

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

Stop caring about what other people think so much about you, stop judging and don’t be a bitch or hypocrite.
Basically, be a better and more civilised person now!

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

Since the age of 5 I was bullied. Ostracised for being timid and shy, probably because I’m “too tall”. Kids would pick on me, all the way till 13? It was hard. I performed in school a lot but would never get the recognition for my craft. But I now I do. I’m thankful.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

Know the influencer’s personality before engaging them for work. You don’t want to tarnish your name accidentally.
Don’t promote something you don’t use or is not suitable for you.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Post whatever you like! Don’t be a copycat, but if you do copy, do it “yourself”

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

I like being appreciated enough to be put out there as a face of their brand. They must see something in me and I’m thankful for that
