Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Ana Sanchez @ana_bloomwood

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I’m 18 years old living in NYC and currently a high school senior. Right now I’m enjoying every single free moment I have before I step into the real world, but of course NYC is already kind of like the real world so I guess I can say I’m more ready than others to dive into adulthood.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

Well of course I love fashion! It’s what I mainly post about on my Instagram. Aside from that I genuinely enjoy doing things like community service it pleases me to help others who don’t have the same advantages as I do in this concrete jungle. Recently I’ve been loving my new Polaroid camera and taking numerous of pictures with it. I know you’re probably thinking, “She’s too basic.” Really though having a bunch of little pictures to remember breathtaking moments are going to come in hand when I’m too old to even remember that I accidentally left my slippers in the freezer!

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

Honestly this may sound dumb to some people but I’ve been obsessed with the last name “Bloomwood” since forever ago. I tried coming up with something cool and catchy like a lot of other great Instagramers but nothing was working out. I was close to just sticking with the IG name I already had, “analives22.” Out of curiosity I wanted to see if @ana_bloomwood was taken, it wasn’t so I kept it! Funny thing is that whenever I meet a new blogger/photographer they always think Ana Bloomwood is my real name because I use it so casually until I correct them. At this point none of my Instagramer friends or even people at school bother acknowledging my real last name.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

Most of the time I’ll use my presets on Lightrroom to edit my pictures. When I don’t, Snapseed and VSCO are always a good idea. I use Snapseed for small things like adjusting brightness, sharpness, saturation and tonal contrast. On VSCO I choose a filter, my favorite one’s include A6, HB1, HB2, and M5 occasionally.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

Ahhh there’s so many Instagrammers that I love.

they are some of the many, but out of all of the one’s I love I’d say Erika Fox from @retroflame inspires me greatly. She’s one hard working Irish I tell you and incredibly sweet I finally got a chance to meet her a couple months ago at a spring event.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

Travel, travel, travel, even if t’s just one state away. Being able to tell stories about road trips across the east coast with friends I consider family is going to be forever wonderful!!

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

Probably my ability to show other people how much I love the brand I’m representing. Personally I love seeing how everyday people such as myself react to a certain brand because I’m more likely to trust an Instagram post from someone that I feel i’s approachable rather than a TV commercial.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

1. Originality, nothing sucks more than ideas being constantly recycled. People always want to see something new.
2. Creativity Looking for the right creative influencers for your brand is crucial.
Authenticity is reached by simply being what you want you’re brand to be remembered as, visualizing creative goals is very helpful for me because I’m able to see in my mind what I want.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

I’d say to never forget quality, it’s pretty obvious that people are going to follow those with great quality pictures over the folks with tons of fake followers and 10 crappy selfies. Building up an eye-pleasing feed with great content may take time but completely worth that extra effort. If fashion,food blogging, fitness, or street photography is something you love this feed buildup is going to just flow smoothly because you’ll be posting about topics of your interest. Leading you to constantly strive for better content as you progress.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

I enjoy that sort of friendship I can get with a brand I truly love. Suddenly we can go from a casual collab to more of a creative collaboration. I also can’t forget about the different products I get to try out I’m constantly in search of different products and if I like them I tend to share about them with a bunch of close friends.
