Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Amanda Amalia Pahlawan @amandaplwn

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

Hello i’m Amanda from Indonesia! I’m currently a masters student majoring in MSc International Marketing in Newcastle University, United Kingdom. I’ve been living abroad since 2010. My previous University for my degree was in Malaysia so i had enough experience overseas and really passionate in sharing all my experiences on my personal blog (akihikoyuuri.wordpress.com) and YouTube Channel (Amanda Pahlawan TV)

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

My topics of interest are mostly towards traveling and food. I love traveling, as it feels like a part of my life already. This year i’ve been to a certain amazing countries such as Iceland, Croatia, Prague, Germany and Netherland. I captured all my best moments and share it on my Instagram 🙂

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

My Instagram name was my real name and it’s a mixture of my first and last name. To be honest, lots of people think i made up my last name which is “Pahlawan” (in English means Warrior). But the truth is, no! It’s real and i am very proud of it. That’s the reason why i put it in most of my social media account name.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I love to use VSCO cam! The filters are perfect and amazing! It’s not too much and i can control the colours, exposure, etc. Also, i recently like to use MakeupPlus to edit my selfie’s, as it create natural look over my Instagram pictures. Last but not least, i used MOLDIV to collage pictures.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

Kayla Itsiness!!!! She inspires me for healthier lifestyle and it’s not about diet or losing weight, it’s about how you love yourself and you want the best thing for you and your future

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

Snapgram! Even though i still use my Snapchat, but Snapgram surely gives me another experience from people which i don’t follow on their Snapchat account. Hopefully they add some filters as well but no dog please! *just kidding* :p

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

It’s about giving inspirations and share your best experience to motivate others. Helping someone in need and you got positive feedback from them in return is the best feeling i always love the most.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

It’s all about creativity and don’t be scared to be different! That what makes you special and unique. In terms of maintaining authenticity, everything comes back to us and what we really really love doing. Following someone else just makes you one of the followers and you are not one of them!

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Go out more often and have fun! Original content and great quality usually come when you are not thinking about it. Be sure to focus on the content you like and keep improving what you already did.
