Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Alice Khau @ehlizaiabear

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I’m now an illustrator studying graphic design. Got a biomedical science degree, but then discovered my true passion when I started to draw in my free time. I’m from Australia and I’ve lived in Melbourne my whole life, although I love to travel and explore. I believe there’s so many beautiful places in this world and magical moments to be had.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

I love posting my artwork and experimenting with new techniques. I started trying to present my work in more interesting ways and this developed a love for flatlays in which I could also share my favourite things, such as florals, tea cups, candles and jewellery.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

I loved the name Elizabeth, and Ehlizaiabear was my more creative take on the name.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I love using Snapseed and Facetune if my photos need extra touching up. Although, I do believe if you start with a good photo, not too much editing is required, and it’s good to let the natural light do the talking. I love the Clarendon and Juno filters and playing with the Lux and Structure filters to give my photos some more edge and dimension.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

I love garypeppergirl and her photography, anneremarchurk, h.rebel and lichipan. They all seamlessly combine beautiful photography with original content, and their own personality. It feels less like following a brand but an individual’s story.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

They’ve gotta try getting together with other creatives or friends, because then you realise that your ideas start to grow even more, you can become even more motivated by surrounding yourself with individuals like yourself, and you feel like you’ve found a family.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

Having the ability to share my work and photography with a supportive and lovely group, who can give me some insightful or friendly feedback, and further motivate me to reach higher; develop and explore new drawing techniques, and take more risks.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

Make it a little unique to you, by adding your own quirks or spin to it. Don’t put too many demands in and make it easy to understand and follow.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Original content is key in developing your own identity and helping followers remember you. Its also important to stay true to yourself, and not let yourself get lost in trends or things just because they’re popular.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

The potential to discover more aspects of my personality, new things and help share these new connections with others. The ability to become even more creative and generate more dynamic content, because fusions of minds or things can lead to more exciting content and ideas.
