Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Alexandra Marques @byalexandramarques

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I (Alexandra Marques) was born in Lisbon-Portugal.
In 1992 I moved to Paris to study fashion design at the Ecoles de la Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture Parisienne, and later on, to New York at the Fashion Institute of Technology. After a few years designing for others, I developed my own brand “Alexandra Marques Swimwear” which was sold to Mirabella Group-USA in 2003.
Yet this year I took together with my father a family business linked to the construction, real estate and property sector. In January 2011, I became the first woman on the Board of APEMIP the association of this sector.
In late 2011, I decided to restart my journey in the fashion world, but this time as a makeup artist. Graduated in the prestigious Antonia Rosa makeup school, join the Lisbon Fashion Week team.
Since 2012, I proudly collaborated with brands such as Shiseido and Giorgio Armani Beauty among others.
Currently I’m working as a consultant for other fashion designers.
The need to share some tips with a wider audience came by the suggestion of some friends and that’s when I decided to create this blog.

Mostly Fashion, Beauty, travel and Lifestyle

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

My initials are A and M, so BlogbyAM was a natural choice. However byAM means between you and me.
