Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Alex @publiclysocial

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I am currently working as a martketing/PR professional in the San Diego area. In my free time, I write for my blog, Publicly Social, which provides tips for persons wanting to join this community and profession.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

I write about social media tips, lifestyle tips to be successful, and PR/branding for both personal and professional use. In doing so, I write about ways you can support a successful lifestyle, so I also consider myself a lifestyle blogger. Posts usually include motivational thoughts, products I use in the office, ways I stay “sane” while being so busy, and tips for getting ahead in your profession.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

I am very passionate about social media and public relations. This is how Publicly Social came about. It’s important to make a name for yourself by being Publicly Social. That encompasses what is important to be a professional in the industry.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I do not use PhotoShop, but I use iphone apps. To edit faces I use Perfect365.
I also use Afterlight and Diptic.
I actually wrote a blog post about photo editing apps I use: http://www.publiclysocial.com/getting-social/best-photo-editing-apps

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

Bloguettes, because they encourage all bloggers.
Also, InternQueen because she helps young professionals get their feet on the ground running.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

Product wise – They need Erin Condren’s personalized planner. I am always pushing for organization, and when you can personalize that experience, it is only enhanced!

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

I love that people use me as a resource. They trust me and trust the tips I provide them with. I’ve built a community around people who trust me.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

I write real. I do not fluff up content or exaggerate. I am real and I do believe my audience sees that.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Always write what you believe. If you started doing that from the beginning, that is what your audience expects. If you truly do not like a product or brand, the chances your audience will are very slim as wlel.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

I enjoy spreading the message. I do this in my career and with my blog.
I like sharing information and building an even greater community.
