Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Alex Grace Jones @alexgracejones

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I am currently training to be an actress at Birmingham School of Acting, but along side my love for performing I have also had a massive interest in make up, style, and blogging. So back in May 2015 I started the blog AlexGraceJones. I have been an avid reader of various blogs for years now so thought it about time to have a go at it myself, and I am so glad I did. Along side my blog I run my social media pages to support and increase my audience further. Instagram has also been my favourite platform for sharing as photography is a very serious passion of mine and I love being able to connect with my followers and fellow posters. I use social media to get inspired and in return I hope to inspire others with my content. My Instagram and blog are spaces where I can give my honest opinions about different products and also a great place for me to share my photos. I am always looking to update and improve my blog and Instagram and looking to push them further.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

Beauty, fashion, food, photography, being vegan, health and fitness, travel. These are the main topics that my pictures include but I pride myself on having a wide rage of content for all my followers. I love to make my photos neat and aesthetically pleasing as these are the sort of posts I love, I also like them to capture my fun spirit and happiness and inspire others.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

It’s simply my name… boring I know. I didn’t want to choose a name that I would go off in a few months or years as I hope to be pushing my social media further and further and making more of a name for myself with the help of companies such as yourself.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

When I take photos I do my best to always use natural light as I think it gives a much nicer effect to any photo. I then proceed to edit anything that may need touching up in photoshop on my iPhone 6s and then I use either after light or snapped to edit and enhance the picture to the right effect. If there is a white background in the picture that is a bit discoloured or too dark I use an app called facetune to lighten where needed. Lastly I use the brightness, contrast and warmth tools on Instagram itself before posting.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

I hope to achieve a clean, bright, exciting feed full of a range of different content like the accounts ‘inthefrow’ & ‘hellooctober I am also massively inspired by ‘julescelilia’ ‘xeniaoverdose’ & ‘kalliekaiser’

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

Traveling! There is no better place to get inspiration for places to travel than Instagram, I have been lucky to travel a fair bit myself and know this is something my followers love to see posts about. I want to be able to show people just how amazing it is to travel and inspire people to get out and try new things where ever possible. I have lots of destinations still to tick off my list, so watch this space.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

I have found inspiration in others my whole life. I feel like finding positive inspiring people is so important to everyone of all ages and walks of life. Whether you find your inspiration though books, films, music or photography to me it has always been less about comparing yourself to others and more about setting yourself goals to achieve. For me I find my inspiration via a wide range of platforms but photography and social media has always been the biggest. It is quick, accessible and up to date and I love it. Having the chance to inspire people the way I have been inspired by others is a dream come true and to be able to influence just one person is a massive achievement let alone having the opportunity to influence thousands.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

I think the most important thing in running campaigns is being completely honest and also being achievable in some way or another. Everyone loves looking at pictures of the perfect couple on a desert island with a mansion in the background but people find inspiration from people they can relate to, someone that might be their age, have the same body shape as them or the same love for dogs. In order to influence someone they have to see you as an attainable goal and not something thats just never going to happen. Real posts from a real girl.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

I am probably the worlds biggest perfectionist in every way and although it is time consuming I love spending the time to make my posts as good as they can possibly be to make my viewers happy and excited for more content from me. There are so many amazing Instagram account out there that in order to stand out you need to be offering something new and original in order to attract followers.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

I love trying new things and shaking things up on my social media and also I have learnt something new from every brand I have ever worked with. I am very committed to being the best I can be and I hope that this is reflected by the work I put into my feed and reflected in the feedback and comments I get.
