Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Aleah Borela @deadlae_

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I’m a student-leader from a Science High School. I started being an influencer since the start of the pandemic because I want to help my family, as we are affected by the crisis.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

My topics of interest are lifestyle, beauty, fashion and skincare.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

I had a hard time coming up to a unique Instagram name. It took time before it became “deadlae_”. The meaning of my username is being “deadly” with a small modification using my nickname “lae”.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I use Lightroom, Snapseed, PicsArt, and the built-in editing feature of iPhone. There is no specific combination of contrast, highlights and etc. The goal is to lighten the photo naturally.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

I have a lot of Instagrammers in mind that I really like, but the top on my list is Angel Secillano. She inspires me the most because she is very humble, powerful, and creative with her contents.

6) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

My favorite part in being an influencer is that I get to meet a lot of people globally. Communicate and collaborate with them.

7) What’s your favorite part about StarNgage? Any exciting campaigns that you have joined through StarNgage before?

My favorite part about StarNgage is how I discover this platform. I haven’t joined any campaigns yet because I just started using this, but I would be honored to get into one. Looking forward to work with the brands here.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

They should make it easy for the consumers to know what they sell and how it will benefit them. Plan the whole promotional strategy so that it won’t leave out the non-promotional ones. I maintain authenticity by being myself when promoting a brand or a product, I don’t copy what others do. I do my style, my thing. And especially, I make sure that I really use the product that I am promoting.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Remember that quality and original content attracts the right audience, that makes them engage and share it to others.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

What I like best about partnering with brands is that I get to work with so many creative people that helps me more to be inspired and keep on going. They share the same values as mine. Shared values can be extremely beneficial, as they afford consumers the opportunity to double their support for a cause.
